The exhibit I curated is opening in Washington DC at the Civilian Art Projects gallery next week. 20% of art sold goes to the Kid Camera Project. It's very exciting. Thanks to everyone involved in this show, it has been an amazing and wonderful experience to bring New Orleans to our capitol.
As Gustav looms, and our levees remain vulnerable, my love and energy go out to the people I love who may be forced to evacuate, again, 3 years later.
I have Obama Fever...
I just returned from New Orleans where I was shooting the Annual Report for Catholic Charities; I shot an array of the program sites, their clients, and their providers. From work training programs for the formerly incarcerated, to food bank warehouse workers...it was such a pleasure to spend 2 days with all these folks all over New Orleans.
I really love Touch and Go Records, and I really love Calexico. Spending a hot summer afternoon with those boys in Austin for their newest album photos was pretty amazing. Thanks boys!

Talib Kweli is a handsome Brooklyn man. I shot him near the Gowanus Canal; he had a firm handshake and a soft voice.

The Childrens book, A Frame For Cleo I am producing with author Darcie Stevens is coming along beautifully. Keep up with us along our journey to publishing.
I have started teaching digital photo and video in NYC public schools through the Brooklyn Arts Council and Wingspan Arts. I will post my students work as the semester progresses. There is some talent in those little ones....
I will be working with Refugee Services of Texas this holiday season, providing free family portraits to refugees relocated to the Austin area. If you are interested in donating to print costs so these folks can send portraits back home to their respective countries, please email me.

Famecast had me back in Austin to shoot their season 3 finals, thanks to the folks at Famecast and Action Figure!
The gals at Kindling and Tinder have a bitchin' site up for their custom knits; I love working with these ladies, their look book was a pleasure to shoot.

The Chronicle gave me the cover back in November; shooting the Strange Boys and the Golden Boys was a dream come true.

I love working for Under the Radar; they sent me to shoot Miss Sharon Jones, and dap king Gabe, at Daptone Records in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Make sure to pick up next month's copy of the mag for her interview. She is kinda, totally awesome.

The VIDEO section needs to be put into action, I know. I just shot Faceless Werewolves first video while in Austin, we'll have that uploaded with a slew of others by next month. It's very difficult to come home to the dirty streets of Brooklyn after spending 3 weeks in the absolute pristine wilderness of Alaska. Really, really hard. You can see more Alaska photos in the travel section, as well as here

So, you know how to awesome Roxy Music is? Well I have teamed up with Austin designer Cheree Jetton to recreate 8 RM album covers for exhibition. They are coming along beautifully. One of my favorites is below. Thanks to Kelly Amanda for hair and makeup on all of the shoots, and Soft Action for styling. I'll be getting them up in the projects section as they are completed.

I recently shot an album cover for my old friend Rapid Ric. He's a total badass, and I have love shooting the Whut it Dew crew over the years. Album outtake below.

I have almost completed design for San Angelo's Sean Rasul. It is always a pleasure working with him.

I gave Austin's Kilombo Njinga Center for African and Afro-Diasporic Martial Arts portraits in August, they were an amazing set of gentlemen.
